Don't Buy a Used U.F.O. TW on Yahoo! Auctions or Mercari

This article is about buying a used U.F.O. TW in Japan, on marketplaces like Yahoo! Auctions, Mercari and Rakuma. My advice: don't — there's a high risk it will break soon.

There are other reasons I don't recommend it, too:

You can't return it if it's faulty on arrival
The maker won't repair it
Because it's an adult toy, the auction site won't help if something goes wrong

If you do buy one, go in knowing that things could go wrong.

In this article I look at whether used U.F.O. TWs are really being sold at auction, and what to watch out for when buying one.

What to Watch Out for When Buying a U.F.O. TW at Auction

You can't return it

At an auction, you can't return it — even if you bought it new.

If you buy from NLS (the official Japanese online store for RENDS/VORZE), returning an initial defect within 8 days of arrival is easy (still NLS's policy as of September 2026).

An auction purchase can't be returned to NLS.

When I wrote this in March 2023, VORZE told me the U.F.O. TW had no maker's warranty, so not being able to return a faulty unit was a deal-breaker. As of September 2026, VORZE's support page gives a 3-month warranty from the purchase date with proof of purchase — but second-hand units aren't covered, so that still doesn't help you at an auction.

And if the seller is dishonest, there's also the risk that they simply refuse to take it back.

The maker won't repair it

If you buy your U.F.O. TW at an auction, you can't get it repaired by the maker.

That's because repairs require your U.F.O. TW receipt.

At an auction, you're not going to get the seller's original receipt.

If you buy one at an auction, assume you'll have to buy a new one if it breaks.

Adult toys are often banned on auction sites

Many auction and flea-market sites ban the sale of adult toys. As of September 2026, Mercari and Rakuma ban them outright, and Yahoo! Auctions bans used adult toys (rule revised in July 2025).

So if something goes wrong, they may not help you.

Always check the seller's ratings before you buy.

It may be broken

In March 2023 I actually saw a U.F.O. TW with one cup that wouldn't turn on for sale on Rakuma (Rakuten's flea-market app).

Because it's rated as washable, water may have got in somewhere it shouldn't.

You may not get a new one

Depending on the seller, you may receive something that isn't actually new.

A new U.F.O. TW comes sealed in plastic wrap. If there are signs it's been opened, it may not be new.

Check in the listing photos that the box is properly sealed in plastic wrap ↓↓

Of course, if they post a photo taken before it was opened, there's nothing you can do…

Also check whether the photo is of the actual box being sold.

It may never be shipped

Be careful if the photo isn't a real photo but an image taken from the official website.

The seller may not own a U.F.O. TW at all and plan to buy one only after you pay.

If their source is out of stock, your order gets cancelled.

Even a real-looking photo may have been taken from the internet, so a reverse image search with Google Lens is a good idea.

It may arrive in a package that gives it away

An inexperienced private seller may ship it in a way that reveals what it is.

Message the seller clearly first — for example, ask them to leave it in your parcel locker — before they ship it.

I bought mine from NLS, one of Japan's big adult-toy online stores, and they shipped it with the contents listed as “printer parts.”

I also asked them to leave it in my parcel locker without ringing the doorbell, and they did exactly that.

NLS can even have the driver call you before delivery.

Is the U.F.O. TW Sold on Mercari? I Checked

Mercari (a Japanese flea-market app) bans the sale of adult toys (still true as of September 2026).

Searching Mercari for “UFOTW” found nothing, but searching for “UFO TW” (with a space) did.

As of March 5, 2023, nothing was for sale — every listing was SOLD.

Most had sold for more than the price of a new one.

Some had even sold for over ¥80,000.

Because it's an adult toy, Mercari may not help you if something goes wrong.

Also factor in how embarrassing it would be to ask for help with a problem over an adult toy.

Is the U.F.O. TW Sold on Yahoo! Auctions? I Checked

On March 5, 2023, one was listed on Yahoo! Auctions (Japan's big auction site) for ¥54,500.

That was more than the price of a new one.

NLS gives you points (for the U.F.O. TW, 1,524 to 6,098 points depending on your member rank, as of September 2026) and lets you return initial defects within 8 days of arrival, so if it's in stock, choose NLS.

Is the U.F.O. TW Sold on Rakuma?

Rakuma had just one U.F.O. TW for sale, and one of its cups wouldn't turn on.

It was listed at ¥25,000 (March 2023).

If a button on your U.F.O. TW breaks, buying one like that might be worth considering.

Are Used U.F.O. TWs Sold in Real Shops?

I searched Twitter (X) to see whether any shops were selling the U.F.O. TW, but found nothing (March 2023).

You do see posts about the A10 Piston SA being sold in real shops, but I suspect the U.F.O. TW is made in such small numbers that it never reaches shops at all.

The adult-toy shops near me didn't have it either.

In late 2022 I checked the adult-toy corner at Don Quijote (a big Japanese discount chain), and it wasn't there.

[U.F.O. TW] Tips for Selling Yours at Auction

Maybe you've used your U.F.O. TW, it no longer does it for you, and you want to sell it second-hand.

Here are some tips for getting a good price.

Listing adult toys is prohibited on most of these sites (as of September 2026, Mercari and Rakuma ban them, and Yahoo! Auctions bans used ones), so there's a risk of your account being banned.

I'm only sharing general tips for selling well at auction, so do this at your own risk.

Note: buying to resell for profit is prohibited, so never do it.
You could end up unable to buy other products too, not just the U.F.O. TW — and that would hurt you.

Keep the boxes and user guide for the device and the attachments

Keep the boxes for the attachments that come with it.

Just having the attachment boxes makes it feel much less used.

In the listing, point out to buyers that having the boxes means they can sell it for more later, too.

People tend to throw away the user guide, but keep it.

State how many times you've used it

Everyone wants to know how much a used U.F.O. TW has been used.

Be honest about it.

Even just saying roughly when you bought it reassures buyers.

Stress that you never rinsed it under water

Rinsing it is officially fine, but I think it does carry a risk of breaking it.

So it's a good idea to stress that “to avoid damage, I never rinsed it — I carefully cleaned it with wet wipes.”

That helps show it isn't broken.

Include the chest supporter (sports bra)

If you're buying one yourself, I recommend getting the U.F.O. TW chest supporter from NLS.

Including NLS's supporter may get you a higher price.

Explain in the listing why the supporter is worth having.

As a buyer, I'd rather not have to order a supporter from NLS separately.

Every extra delivery is another chance of someone finding out.

It counts as underwear, so let buyers know it has been washed properly.

Also say that you won't include it for buyers who don't want used underwear.

If you can order from NLS with free shipping, even adding a brand-new supporter might help it sell faster. (As of September 2026, the supporter is ¥781, and NLS takes ¥590 off shipping on orders of ¥5,000 or more.)

Of course, Mercari bans listing used underwear (still true as of September 2026).
