I bought my A10 Piston SA new and I use it all the time.

Based on that experience, my conclusion is: “don't buy it used.”

You have to check very carefully that a used one isn't broken. If that's going to wear on your nerves, my view is you're better off buying new.

Besides, maybe because it's popular, the A10 Piston SA rarely shows up on auction sites.

Buying used could even end up costing you more.

There's also a risk of infection.

I'll go through 5 risks of buying used, then what to watch out for and how to get a good deal if you still decide to.

Please read this and make sure you know the risks before you buy.

Warning: A Used A10 Piston SA Doesn't Come with the Dedicated Sleeve, So You'll Need to Buy One

Obviously, dedicated sleeves aren't sold used, because they've been used.

So you'll need to buy one separately.

Remember that on top of the A10 Piston SA itself, you'll need about ¥2,500 more for a dedicated sleeve (price in May 2022; as of September 2026, the current Sleeve 2.0 series costs ¥2,970 (about US$19) at NLS).

Honestly, the sleeve that comes with a new unit doesn't have a great reputation anyway.

So I recommend buying a dedicated sleeve with stronger stimulation.

Since I started using an amazing onahole (stroker sleeve) called “Mada Namae ga Arimasen” in my A10 Piston SA, I've stopped using the dedicated sleeves completely.
The cleanup and the feeling are on a whole other level.

This is the most popular dedicated sleeve.

A Used A10 Piston SA Isn't Much Cheaper

Maybe because it's popular, even used ones often sold for ¥30,000 or more (May 2022).

On top of that, they don't include the dedicated sleeve that comes with a new A10 Piston SA, so you have to add the price of a sleeve. (Since October 1, 2025, a new A10 Piston SA PLUS comes with the Sleeve 2.0 Clover.)

A new one cost ¥40,000 at the time, so buying used saved you about ¥10,000. (As of September 24, 2026, the new A10 Piston SA PLUS costs ¥49,800 (about US$315) at NLS.)

But there's no point in taking these risks just to get a used A10 Piston SA.

In the next section, I'll go through the risks of buying a used A10 Piston SA.

The Risks of Buying a Used A10 Piston SA

You can't return it

If a new one has an initial defect, you can return it through the shop you bought it from.

But dealing with a return with an individual seller is risky.

They're not a company.

That's another reason you need to be careful about where you buy.

You should buy from an online shop that properly handles problems right after purchase.

On Amazon Japan, the price was higher and the sellers weren't always reliable (May 2022).

If you buy from a trusted shop like NLS (the official Japanese online store for RENDS/VORZE), which had been in business for over 20 years when I wrote this, they'll properly help you if something goes wrong after you buy.

At NLS, unused items could be returned with no conditions (their policy when I checked in May 2022).

You can also reach them by phone and get help (still true as of September 2026; their phone line is closed on Sundays and public holidays).

Keep in mind that if you buy a used A10 Piston SA, you don't get any of these benefits of a big online shop.

Dirt and the risk of infection

Simply put, a used A10 Piston SA is dirty.

If you've ever used an A10 Piston SA you'll know: semen and lotion get sticky and leak out all the time.

The first time you use an A10 Piston SA, you're not used to it yet, so this is guaranteed to happen.

That mess gets into the grooves, and what gets into the grooves can never be completely removed.

When I first wrote this, I said the cap could be washed. In fact, the official English manual says both the top cap and the main unit are not waterproof, so they can't be washed — only the sleeve and the inner case can be washed with water.

There's a limit to how clean you can get it.

And I suspect many sellers don't clean it that thoroughly anyway.

For a machine you put your genitals into, my conclusion is that it's better to buy new.

If you don't keep your genitals clean, bacteria can get in through the urethra, and problems like a bladder infection aren't impossible.

I think plenty of people would also feel uneasy about using a dirty A10 Piston SA like that.

Rather than feeling grossed out thinking about the previous owner every time you use it, I think it's better to buy new.

You won't get the warranty

For example, the A10 Cyclone SA's warranty included wording like this (2022):

Exclusions

When this warranty card and the receipt from the time of purchase are not presented with the warranty claim.

When the date of purchase is not written on the warranty card, or there is no document (such as a receipt) showing the date of purchase.

A used unit usually comes without a receipt, so you won't get the warranty.

If you do buy one, I recommend asking whether the receipt comes with it.

It can't be repaired

Before that, only the A10 Cyclone SA could be repaired.

Used units break more easily.

If it can't be repaired, you have to buy another one.

In the A10 Piston SA reviews on NLS, repairs come up a lot.

It's not a product that rarely needs repair.

There's a real chance it will need repairing.

If you buy a used A10 Piston SA, factor in the chance that it may stop working soon.

The battery may be worn out

A worn-out battery on the A10 Piston SA is a really big deal.

You could even call it fatal.

Because if it dies while you're watching VR, the mood is gone.

You can't just recharge it and pick up where you left off.

You can imagine that you won't be able to wait that long.

You won't calm down until you finish.

If you buy used, always ask how often it was used.

The charging port may be broken

The base of the old A10 Piston SA's charging port breaks very easily. (As of September 2026, NLS says the newer A10 Piston SA PLUS charges over USB-C.)

The charging cable is quite stiff to plug in, so people sometimes push it in hard and damage it.

That's why this part tends to break.

If you do buy used, make sure the charging port isn't loose or wobbly.

On a new unit, the charging cable is quite stiff to plug in.

Normally, the charging port on the A10 Piston SA shouldn't wobble at all — it should feel firm.

Liquid may have gotten inside

Whenever you use the A10 Piston, liquid comes out.

• Semen
• Lotion
• Water from washing

With a careless seller, it's very possible that liquid has gotten inside the unit.

Liquid inside the unit is very hard to get out.

Once liquid gets inside, the circuit board may corrode.

Even if it works right after you buy it on Mercari, it may stop working eventually.

Think about this “liquid problem” too before deciding to buy used.

It may be an overseas version

The A10 Piston SA was also sold in other countries, such as South Korea (2022).

It's unlikely, but it could be an overseas version.

Even an overseas version is the same A10 Piston SA, so it's not much of a problem.

Being an overseas version doesn't mean it won't work in Japan.

Still, just in case, check that the manual isn't in Korean.

It may have been modified

I think it's unlikely, but a seller could be hiding a modification.

Know-how for modifying it is actually out there online.

Just remember the chance isn't zero.

What to Check When Buying a Used A10 Piston SA

If you do decide to buy used, check the following so you don't lose out.

Buy one that comes with a mount as a bonus

There's a mount called the Stand Basic that clamps the A10 Piston SA to a desk.

I saw a seller including one as a bonus.

It normally cost over ¥7,000 when I wrote this in May 2022 (as of September 2026, NLS lists it on sale at ¥5,500 (about US$35)), so if you find a listing that includes the Stand Basic, it would be a waste not to grab it.

It will also help you sell it for more when you sell it on yourself.

Try searching for “A10 Piston Stand Basic” too — you might find one.

If you don't need the Stand Basic, you could ask, “I don't need the stand — could I buy just the A10 Piston SA?”

But it may sell while you're still negotiating, so if you find a good deal on a used A10 Piston SA like this, I recommend buying it right away.

Check that the accessories are included

Make sure the plastic part that holds the sleeve in place is included.

Without it, you can't use the toy at all.

It's a moving part, so it breaks easily — check it isn't broken when the used unit arrives.

The charger is essential too. Make sure it's included.

Even just a missing manual means you can't sell it for as much later, so I recommend factoring the manual in when you buy.

Go for a used one that's deliberately cheap because it's broken

Another approach is to buy a used one that's cheap because some accessories are missing.

That's because you can buy the missing accessories at NLS.

Ask how often it was used to judge how worn the battery is

If the listing doesn't say how often it was used, don't hesitate to ask.

An A10 Piston SA that was used often and for a long time may die soon after charging.

You can use the A10 Piston SA with the charging cable plugged in, but the official site doesn't recommend it.

And with the cable attached, it's quite awkward to use.

That's because the cable sticks out of the top.

It can also damage the base of the cable.

When I wrote this, the cable could be bought separately at NLS as an accessory (as of September 2026, NLS no longer sells the old A10 Piston SA charging cable, and it doesn't fit the PLUS), so you could use it thinking “I don't care if the cable breaks” — but if the unit itself breaks, the repair cost is ridiculously high.

You might even have to ask RENDS, the maker, to replace the battery yourself (2022).

Is the A10 Piston SA Sold on Mercari?

On May 9, 2022, I checked whether the A10 Piston SA was for sale on Mercari.

I filtered to items currently for sale, but none showed up.

In the sales history, they had sold for ¥30,000–¥35,000.

Is the A10 Piston SA Sold on Yahoo! Auctions?

On May 9, 2022, I also checked whether the A10 Piston SA was for sale on Yahoo! Auctions (a Japanese auction site).

It wasn't for sale. (As of September 2026, Yahoo! Auctions' rules, revised July 18, 2025, ban listing used adult goods.)

What to Do If You Want to Sell a Used A10 Piston SA for a Good Price

If you know how sellers think, you can tell what a seller might be hiding.

That way, you can get a better deal on an A10 Piston SA.

Stress that you've cleaned it with alcohol

Cleanliness is the key.

Say right at the start of the listing that you've carefully disinfected it with alcohol.

If buyers get the impression it isn't clean, it won't sell well.

State how many times you've used it

If you've only used the A10 Piston SA a few times, make a point of saying so.

Buyers also feel reassured if you honestly explain why you're selling it.

But if you bluntly write that it didn't feel good at all, it won't sell.

A reason like “I bought a replacement” might be better.

Say that you bought it new

“Bought new” makes a better impression than “bought used.”

If you bought it used yourself, it'll sell for more if you just don't mention that.

Photos help too: shooting it in its bag, like the photo above, shows how clean it is and helps it sell for more.

Keep the box

If you have the box, it's easier to sell for a good price.

That's because the A10 Piston SA's white box looks premium.

It'll probably add about ¥1,000 to the price.

Think of the box as being worth ¥1,000.

If the A10 Piston SA arrives in its premium box rather than loose, the buyer feels it's cleaner and is happier, and complaints are less likely.

Take photos of the box for the listing, too.

Keep the manual

The manual is just a single sheet of paper, but it helps you get a better price when you sell.

The back is in English, so a buyer from abroad might be interested too.

Fix any problems first

Selling it for next to nothing because it seems broken and you don't use it would be a waste.

It may not actually be broken.

Go through the troubleshooting properly, and once you know it isn't truly broken, you'll get more for it when you sell.

Don't watch the free bonus video that comes with a new unit

It comes with a serial number.

Enter this serial number and you can watch a bonus video.

The video quality is poor and it's nothing special, so there's no need to watch it.

When you sell, advertise that you're “including this first-purchase bonus video.”

It does have real penetration scenes and the actresses are cute, so it helps the price.

Tell buyers that in the bonus video “three women take good care of you,” and let their imagination do the rest.

Summary

Buying the A10 Piston SA new is the safe choice.

With a used one there's a lot more to worry about, and the risk is high.

Only buy a used A10 Piston SA if you can accept those risks for the sake of saving about ¥10,000 (based on 2022 prices).
